The Pulpit Commentary was written over a period of 30 years in the late nineteenth century by a diverse group of scholars and was based on the text of the King James Version. It is still widely available in commercial Bible-Study databases, indicating that it has enduring value in bridging the gap between biblical scholarship and the practical application of the text.
